Interview with Franchisee Jas Ganger

WO: Tell us about yourself?

JG: I was born and raised in West Bromwich in the Midlands. I'm married and have two kids aged twelve and nine. I went to University in Leicester and got myself a degree in Management Science. In terms of my working life, I’ve only worked at two places. My first job was as a cashier at NatWest bank and between 2004 and 2020 I worked as an Account Manager for DPD Group UK.

WO: How did you learn about the franchise opportunities that World Options offers?

JG: I decided I wanted to change my working life as I was getting fed up with the 'corporate' lifestyle and started looking on the internet for franchises. I came across World Options on a site that advertises different types of franchises and it looked perfect for me.

I then started my research and owning a World Options franchise became more and more attractive to me.

WO: What exactly was it that attracted you to buy a World Options franchise?

JG: I thought the fit was right for me as I have been in the parcel industry for sixteen years and believe my experience would give me the advantage to make a success of it.

Once I saw how the portal worked, I loved it and could visualise myself selling it to customers. Also, the franchise model is scalable, and nothing is stopping you from selling as long as you have a phone, laptop and internet.

This was ideal for me as it allowed me to run my business from home to keep my running costs low.

WO: How did you find the process of purchasing a World Options franchise?

JG: The whole process was straightforward and direct. I sent an email enquiry online, and H called me on the same day. We decided to book a Zoom call based on the first conversation to go through more details.

I was impressed with what H showed me, and we discussed various things. I later had another call with Leland and H, and they both answered my questions openly and honestly, which helped ease any concerns I had. I got the impression that I won't be left alone, and there would be plenty of support for me after the purchase. This helped me make the decision to buy the franchise.

WO: What can we expect to see from your franchise in the coming months?

JG: I’m pleased with my first year's performance but remain hungrier than ever. I want to expand my business by moving into some offices and hopefully recruit two Telesales Executives to help grow even further.

WO: What would you say to someone looking to buy a World Options Franchise?

JG: If you aren’t from the industry, do your research and know exactly what you are letting yourself in for. Sales is a roller-coaster of a ride, and you will have lows which you need to be ready for, but equally, the high of bringing on new clients is a thrill I enjoy. Also, plan your cash flow carefully, as franchises can take time to build. Buying a World Options franchise is not a get rich quick scheme!

WO: What is your favourite holiday?

JG: I love sun, sea and sand, so as long as the holiday has these three things, I'm happy.

WO: Hobbies?

JG: I'm a typical lad and love my sports. I watch any sport on the telly, from football to UFC. I'm a big Liverpool fan and have a soft spot for my hometown club, West Bromwich Albion. I love spending time with my family and friends and try to socialise as much as possible. I like keeping active and enjoy books and Podcasts.

WO: Who is the most influential person in your life and why?

JG: Has to be my Dad, no doubt. He came to the country as a nine-year-old from India and worked two jobs his whole life to provide for his family. He has a fantastic work ethic and is still going strong at seventy.

He remains a huge part of my life and is someone I look up to.
