What did you do before deciding to become a World Options franchisee?
I lived in London for about 8 years, left university, and went into sales. I went into sales to get the experience, but the idea was always to have my own business.
Why did you decide to purchase a World Options franchise?
I saw World Options and thought, great. I liked the online aspect—having a building with rent and rates has a lot of costs, whereas this really drew me in because you can capture a whole market, and you just need an office. I saw this as a really good opportunity to get into the world of having your own business and understanding how to run a business.
What appealed to you in World Options that other franchises didn't have?
I liked the aspect of the recurring revenue, so even when I couldn't give the business much attention, like when I was purchasing a house last year, I was still making money.
What's changed for you since becoming a World Options franchisee?
I’d say I’ve surprised myself. There have been challenges, and I’ve learned a lot, but overcoming these challenges gives me the experience to go into new conversations and educate my customers.
What has been your biggest challenge as a franchisee?
I didn’t know the industry, but the best way to learn it is by doing it. That’s what I’ve done—got into it, faced challenges, and learned along the way.
How do you overcome challenges and add value to your customers?
Overcoming challenges gives me ammunition to go into new conversations and actually educate customers, finding new ways to add value to them.
If you could go back in time, would you have done anything differently?
Probably just made more calls and got a few more customers—I’d be making a bit more money today.
