About Us

After leaving University in 2007 studying Spanish and Music, Nick Daley found himself working in a sales role and later for UPS.

After Mick Sherlock returned from Spain, where he worked in his first sales roles, he started working for Yell and UPS before deciding to go for a World Options franchise.

Their Franchise is based in Greater Manchester.

Joined World Options as a franchisee in 2020.

What Attracted You To The Shipping Industry?

Mick Sherlock: It's a massively growing market with lots of potential. Having worked in the industry, we were both aware of the opportunities owning our own business in this market would bring.

At What Point Did You Decide You Wanted To Build Your Own Empire?

Nick Daley: During some of the sales roles that we've worked in, one of the things that we both were looking to do was to get more flexibility and more reward from the work that we were doing. So owning our own business was the best choice to make.

Why Was World Options The Right Fit For You?

Mick Sherlock: We felt with the experience that we gained in the courier industry, we had the right knowledge and expertise to put this into our own business and work independently within a franchise.

How Did Your Previous Experience Help You In Driving Your Business?

Nick Daley: Working in several different sales roles, including telesales and field sales-based roles, give us both the knowledge and the expertise to sell to many customers in a short time frame and grow the business quite quickly.

What Has Changed For You Since Becoming A World Options Franchisee?

Mick Sherlock: So much has changed. I think the work-life balance that we have now is far better than it's ever been before. From a motivational point of view, working for yourself is really rewarding. The opportunities for a career and the financial rewards that come with it have been massive.

What Key Steps Did You Take To Make Your Franchise A Success?

Nick Daley: Planning is the key! We knew exactly what we wanted to achieve and how quickly we wanted to achieve it. Sticking to that plan and forecasting and monitoring precisely how we were performing enabled us to grow to the level we're on today.

What Makes You Passionate About Your Franchise?

Mick Sherlock: It is your own business. There's a massive amount of passion. You see the rewards you generate, the connection you've got with your customers, and the connections you've got with the people that work for you. Every day when you come to work, there's a new challenge. It's a personal challenge with big rewards.

What Advice Would You Give To People Who Are Thinking About Becoming A World Options Franchisee?

Nick Sherlock: If you're interested in becoming a franchisee, speak to other franchisees and learn what world options can offer you. First of all, you need to set out exactly what you want to gain from the franchise and then put a plan in place, and others around you will help you to become a success.
